After you complete one year as a regular full-time or part-time employee, you are eligible for tuition reimbursement for the cost of classes and books required for CEUs or degree programs. You may be reimbursed up to $1000, a year if you are full-time; up to $750 a year if you are part-time.
CHS offers all employees a wide range of training opportunities – on the job, scholarships, seminars, CEU courses – starting on their date of hire.
If you are a regular full-time or part-time employee, you are eligible for various programs offering paid time off from work.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
After you complete 90 days of continuous employment, you begin accruing paid time off (PTO). Your annual accrued PTO is combined in one account, which you can use for vacation, holidays, short-term illness, and the first 16 hours of a long-term illness during the year. The amount of PTO you accrue for the year depends on the hours you work each pay period.
Long-Term Sick Leave (LTSL)
You accrue up to 48 hours a year for long-term sick leave (LTSL). You may use LTSL hours if you have an extended illness and have used 16 hours of your PTO. You may also use up to 24 hours a year to care for an immediate family member. The amount of LTSL you accrue depends on the hours you work each pay period.
You are eligible for up to three 8-hour days (24 hours) with pay for bereavement leave upon the death of an immediate family member or significant other, as defined by CHS’s policy.
After you complete 180 days of continuous employment, you are eligible to be paid at your regular rate of pay for any time you lose from work due to jury duty.
Leaves of Absence
Leaves may be granted for medical, maternity, family, personal, work-related injury, or military duty and may be paid or unpaid. Generally, employees on leave do not lose benefits or seniority. Leaves are governed by federal and state laws, and in accordance with CHS policy.
Housing Assistance Programs
If you are a regular full-time or part-time employee, you may be eligible for a CHS housing assistance program, designed to help meet financial needs associated with maintaining a single-family residence. Assistance is directed to applicants in “difficult to recruit” positions and employees who experience life events for which they require assistance.
Mortgage Assistance Program
After you complete one year of employment as a regular full-time or part-time employee whose work schedule is more than 60 hours per pay period, you are eligible for the CHS mortgage assistance program. CHS offers qualified home-buyers a low-interest loan to help purchase a single-family residence. The CHS loan is a second trust deed.
Onsite Child Care at SBCH
SBCH has offered employees the highest quality onsite child care for over 20 years, through our pre-school and infant/toddler programs.
Commuting Incentive Program
The CHS commuting incentive program’s goal is to encourage increased use of “green” methods of transportation. The program offers a wide range of incentives and rewards for employees who walk, bike, carpool, vanpool or bus to and from work.
