Cottage Children’ Hospital welcomes a leading pediatric specialist to the Santa Barbara community, further enhancing the level of medical and surgical services available to children throughout the region. Dr. Drew Kelts, board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology, has moved to Santa Barbara from the Central Valley. For the last seven years, he has directed the Pediatric Gastroenterology division at Children’s Hospital Central California in Madera. Before that he directed Subspecialty Services, including pediatric GI, at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. A native of Boston, he received his undergraduate education at Marietta College in Ohio, and his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, Massachusetts. This was followed by a residency in pediatrics from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and the University of Washington in Seattle, where he also completed a fellowship in adolescent medicine. A subsequent fellowship in pediatric GI and nutrition was completed at Harvard University Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.
