Prepared Childbirth Series
This series of seven classes held during the third trimester is
ideal for first-time parents or anyone wanting a comprehensive overview
of events surrounding birth.
Course Content:
• Breathing and relaxation techniques for labor
• The normal process of labor, medical options for birth,
and the coaching role for labor companions
• The postpartum period with an emphasis on care of the
new mom and baby
• Birth Center Tour
• Cesarean Childbirth, Full Labor Rehearsal
• Breastfeeding
• "Bringing Baby Home", new parent information

Sibling Preparation
This course is open to children, ages 3 to 8 years of age. The course
provides an opportunity for children to express feelings about the
new baby and describe
differences between “baby and me.”
Course Content:
• An exploration of ways that the big sister or big brother can help the family
• A tour of the Mother-Infant Unit

The Sibling Class is free to families delivering at the Birth Center. For all others it is $15.
