CPR For Family and Friends: Infant/Child

course covers CPR and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) for infants and children up to the age of 8 years. This course is appropriate for parents, babysitters, and anyone who spends time with children and wants to learn these skills.

This course is based on American Heart Association guidelines and is designed for parents, babysitters, and friends who do not require certification for employment. Participants will receive a course participation card and there is no exam.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

•  Describe the causes and prevention of injury and cardiopulmonary arrest in children
  •  Demonstrate how to administer CPR and first aid for choking infants and children

Course Content:

•  Lecture, video, demonstration, and “hands-on” mannequin practice
  •  CPR and FBAO for infants and children under the age of 8

Participants who cancel within 24 hours of the start of a class will be considered “no-shows” and will be charged the full amount. In the event that a course is cancelled, enrollees will be notified by phone or mail.
