Neurointerventional's Toolbox
The Merci Retrieval System
Using minimally-invasive endovascular techniques, the Merci Retrieval Procedure is performed in a hospital angiography suite by a trained physician. The Merci Retriever ® is inserted through the femoral artery and advanced into the cerebral vasculature using fluoroscopic or X-ray imaging to pinpoint clot location.

The Merci Retrieval System is a minimally-invasive catheter-based system for restoring blood flow in the neurovasculature by removing blood clots in patients experiencing ischemic stroke. The Merci Retrieval procedure employs a widely accepted mode of delivery where the arterial system is accessed through the femoral artery in the groin. The device is then navigated to the brain using standard endovascular techniques.

The Penumbra System
The Penumbra System is designed to revascularize large vessel occlusions in the intracranial circulation. The Penumbra System uses a unique microcatheter and Separator™ based thrombus debulking approach to intracranial vessel revascularization.

| NOVA qMRI ®
Cottage Center for Advanced Imaging now offers breakthrough technology in quantitative MRA. CCAI is one of only three radiology facilities in California and 25 nationally that offer NOVA qMRA - a completely non-invasive procedure for enhanced visualization of brain vasculature. It is the first system of its kind to allow for fast, accurate, and non-invasive determination of actual blood flow in milliliters per minute.
NOVA [Non-invasive Optimal Vessel Analysis] now gives physicians a safe, non-invasive option to assess the hemodynamic effects of stenosis and to quantify blood flow [cc/min] in targeted vessels and pathways of the brain.
Features and Benefits of NOVA
| • |
3D Vasculature imagery that rotates a full 360 degrees |
| • |
The NOVA report calculates flow rates, velocity, wave forms, and flow direction. |
| • |
Compare pre- and post-intervention to assess the effectiveness of treatment. |
A NOVA study is indicated for patients with any of these diagnoses:
