Partnering for Your Safety:
EHR, eHP, HIE...What does it all mean?

  • Electronic health records (EHRs) are the computerized versions of paper records, creating a more efficient way to manage information. They include medical history, progress notes, problems, medications, vital signs, immunizations, laboratory data, radiology reports, and more. EHRs can improve the efficiency and quality of medical care you receive.
  • Cottage is partnering with healthcare providers in our community in creating an eHealth Partnership to promote the use of electronic health records.
  • Part of this effort is a health information exchange (HIE), which enables the ex- change of information through a secure web portal that can be accessed by physicians, clinics, hospitals, and other authorized healthcare providers.
  • Electronic health records and a health information exchange will improve patient care and safety, providing physicians with timely and complete patient information.
