|
Through diligent efforts to measure optimal patient outcomes and employ unmatched technological capabilities, research, and physician expertise, the SBNI has set its sights on developing into a top-tier neuroscience center in California recognized for its cost management, care quality, and optimal outcomes.
Successful treatment relies on a collaborative team approach of highly qualified individuals who can communicate and actively listen to patients and their families' needs. SBNI is actively engaged in implementing new technology and treatment modalities – all directed towards benefiting the patient.

We also work closely with many other local healthcare organizations, including the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, ensuring the team approach to patient care.
The SBNI steering committee is comprised of a multi-disciplinary group of physicians and nursing leadership, focusing on: |
- Improving the quality of patient care
- Assuring maximum value for each dollar spent on health care
- Improving the competitiveness of clinical services
- Providing a venue for applied and clinical research
|
|
An important aspect of care is the support of the patient’s family and the patient’s successful rehabilitation after a neurological event. Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is one of only a few hospitals in Southern California that has a CARF-accredited Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital for stroke survivors, a specialty facility that allows us to provide a continuum of care for patients and families close to home.
