COTTAGE REHABILITATION HOSPITAL

Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital (CRH) is dedicated to providing excellent care for survivors of stroke, brain and spinal cord injury, orthopedic injury and other disabling conditions.

For more than 50 years, the not-for-profit CRH (formerly known as Rehabilitation Institute of Santa Barbara) has provided comprehensive medical rehabilitation services, for both outpatient and inpatient care,

CRH is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs and Stroke Specialty Programs. CRH is also accredited by the Joint Commission as a program of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

CRH's Transdisciplinary Team works together with the patient and caregiver to achieve maximum successful outcomes.

CRH participates in a national outcomes measurement system, eREHAB DATA, and is proud of its benchmark outcomes, including its exemplary record of successfully discharging inpatients to home or home-like settings (80% in 2012) instead of institutions.

Families and caregivers are supported through Coast Caregivers Resource Center, a program serving those who care for adults affected by chronic cognitive disorders.

CRH features the Tuohy Foundation Aquatic Center which offers an important adjunct or substitution to land-based therapy treatments. The resistive properties of water can provide muscular challenge for improving strength and endurance. CRH offers a variety of aquatic therapy classes and programs for patients as well as community members.

Through its Keck Center for Outpatient Services, CRH offers adapted driving services including a pre-driving evaluation, behind-the-wheel evaluation, driver training and evaluation and training on adaptive equipment. The services are for any patient or community member whose physical or cognitive disability has the potential to impair driving ability.
