Patient education is an essential component of diabetes treatment and can help prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and some of the acute and chronic complications of diabetes. With the support of a healthcare team and an increased knowledge and awareness of the disease, patients can assume a major part of the responsibility for their diabetes management.

Living Well with Diabetes is a monthly education program held at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. Learn more  >>

 

SBCH's Diabetes Education Program, recognized by the American Diabetes Association, offers high-quality education on diabetes management and lifestyle modification for every patient it serves. We offer individual instruction for people with Pre-Diabetes, Type 1, Type 2, or Gestational Diabetes.

 

Consultations are available Tuesday and Thursday, 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Our program is covered by many insurance companies.
